| Photographer | Staff Photographer Seattle Post-Intelligencer |
| Date | 1938 |
| Caption | In January 1938, Seattle dry cleaner Grover K. Matsuda presented Greenwood School with twelve pairs of rubber boots for members of the safety patrol. According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Matsuda made the donation in appreciation for the fine education his two grandsons were receiving in Seattle public schools.
This January 1938 photo shows eight members of the Greenwood School safety patrol wearing slickers and showing off their new boots. Before Mr. Matsuda donated the boots, patrol members had lost an hour of school on rainy or snowy days while they dried out their pant legs, shoes and socks. |
