| Caption | "Water splashing over the spillways of a 40-foot-high model dam forms the background for the Pavilion of Electric Power exhibit of the Electric Utilities of Washington State. Theme of the exhibit is the harnessing of the power of flowing water to provide better living for less - electrically. A major feature is a 16-foot by 24-foot relief map of the State of Washington showing the principal power dams, the transmission network and 24 of the largest cities of the state. Other exhibits include a comparison of the old-fashioned waterwheel with a modern hydroelectric generator, an animated display of nature's water cycle, models of atomic and solar energy generating plants and a hydroelectric 'IQ' question-and-answer game. The contractor and exhibit designer was Hartwig Inc. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The architect was Jack Bryant, A.I.A., and local contractor Harvey Johnson."
Behind the Electric Power building is the domed roof of the Alaska Pavilion and the skyline of downtown Seattle. |
