| Caption | St. James Cathedral was built to celebrate the move of the Roman Catholic archdiocese from Vancouver, Washington, to Seattle. The cathedral's cornerstone was laid in 1905, and the 1400-seat building opened two years later, in 1907. This photo shows an Easter Sunday mass in 1937. |
