| Caption | Scenic view of Washington State Capitol building and viciniity showing streets, lawns and pedestrian walkways. The original landscape plan for the capitol complex was developed by the Olmsted Brothers firm of Brookline, Massachusetts. The classical-style capitol building was designed by Walter Wilder and Harry White, New York architects, and completed in 1924. The building features a 278-foot high dome which at the time of construction was the fourth highest in the world. |
