CaptionIn this photo, a children's parade proceeds down Meridian Street in Puyallup during Ezra Meeker Days, held on September 14, 15 and 16. Pioneer Ezra Meeker is remembered as the town's founder, but also for his early business success in the hop industry and his commemoration of the Lewis and Clark expedition. During his life he was an active philanthropist. He donated Pioneer Square to the city, which became the site of the city's original Carnegie public library in 1912 - 1913.
