| Photographer | Staff photographer Seattle Post-Intelligencer |
| Date | 1965 |
| Caption | The Washington State Coliseum was built to serve as the Washington State Pavilion for the Seattle World's Fair (Century 21 Exposition) of 1962. After the fair, the coliseum was converted to an 18, 500-seat sports and convention facility, and in 1995 was remodeled and renamed Key Arena. In this photo, the floor was being transitioned from a basketball court to a ice rink. Workers are removing the large sheets of plywood and preparing the ice for a hockey game. |
