| Caption | Grapefest is the oldest festival in the Tri-Cities area. In the early 1900s, Kennewick was home to the largest Concord grape harvest in the world. In celebration of the harvest, Grapefest was born in 1911. Eventually Grapefest became the County Fair, and has continued in various incarnations over the years. This photo shows the parade in Kennewick for the 1946 Grape Festival, a three-day event held October 3 - 5. A decorated automobile heads the parade. |
