| Caption | Duke Moore came to Seattle with the U. S. Navy during World War II. In 1942, Moore and several other black musicians played in a Navy swing band, the Jive Bombers, which was based at Sand Point Naval Air Station. Moore played the drums. After the war, Moore and a number of other black musicians stayed in Seattle. Moore joined The Question Marks, a jazz group which played in various Seattle nightclubs.
