| Title | Milkman and Arden Farms dairy truck, 1938 |
| Photographer | Webster & Stevens |
| Date | 1938 |
| Caption | Before about the 1960s, dairies delivered milk in glass bottles directly to homes and apartments. Milkmen drove regular early morning routes through the neighborhoods, leaving full milk bottles and picking up the empties. In this photo, taken in 1938 for the Arden Farms Company, a Seattle milkman stands beside his truck with a carrier full of glass milk bottles. Arden Farms sold milk and other dairy products, including Sunfreze-brand ice cream. |
