| Title | Manning's waitresses and display window, 1949 |
| Photographer | Webster & Stevens |
| Date | 1949 |
| Caption | Manning's Coffee Cafes were very popular with Seattle residents. Around 1950, the company had ten restaurants in various parts of the city where they sold "home-style food, delicious coffee, and heavenly cakes to take home." The company also had its own bakery and coffee roasting plant. In this 1949 photo, six Manning's waitresses stand outside a window filled with coffee beans, chocolate candies, baked goods, and ads for Manning's Coffee Cafes. Like many other waitresses at that time, the women wear uniforms with aprons and caps. The window is in the First Federal Savings & Loan Building on Seattle's Third Avenue. |
