CaptionLarge trucks brought cut logs down from the forests and dumped them into boom ponds. From there the logs were floated to lumber mills.
In this photo, a truck has been driven onto a tilted track which makes it easier to dump the logs into the water. Webster & Stevens took the photo in 1939 for the Motor Transportation Company.
