| Caption | The Seattle Brewing & Malting Company was founded in 1878 and built its large new Bayview Brewery in 1890. Several years later, the company merged with a firm that eventually became today's Rainier Brewing Company. This photo, taken around 1915, shows the Seattle Brewing & Malting Company's Bayview Brewery buildings. Some of these buildings are still in use by the Rainier Brewing Company and can be seen from Interstate 5, just south of downtown Seattle. |
