| Caption | An Air Force jet that had flown over the opening day festivities of the Seattle World's Fair crashed into a residential neighborhood north of Seattle. When the engine failed at 1, 500 feet, the pilot ejected and survived. However, the plane crashed into several residences, instantly killing a couple inside one of the homes. |
