| Photographer | Webster & Stevens |
| Date | ca. 1942 |
| Caption | In the early 1940s, Elliott A. Bivins ran a drugstore on Denny Way in Seattle's Madrona neighborhood. Just inside the door was a soda fountain that sold Carnation ice cream and snacks. The drugstore also sold a variety of household goods and supplies. In this photo, taken around 1942, two boys sit at the Carnation soda fountain in Madrona. One reads a magazine and the other talks with the woman behind the counter. The shelves of the drugstore are filled with cleansers, candies, bottles of soft drinks, and school and office supplies. |
