| Caption | For a number of years, Goodwill Industries has had its Seattle factory, offices, and main store at Rainier Avenue South and South Dearborn Street. Unskilled, handicapped, and needy people have worked here repairing furniture, fixing appliances, and cleaning and repairing clothing for sale in the Goodwill stores. In this 1948 photo, a young Asian American man repairs a rocking chair at Seattle Goodwill Industries. During that year, Goodwill had stores in Seattle, Kent, Renton, Bremerton, and Everett. |
