| Caption | The NASA exhibit in the Seattle World's Fair's World of Science told the story of the United States Space Program, including its manned flight program, with equipment and hardware used in the program on display. This photograph shows a crowd viewing the Friendship 7, the space capsule in which astronaut John Glenn made the first manned orbital mission into space in February 1962. As part of its post-flight worldwide tour, the spacecraft was displayed in the Century 21 NASA exhibit in August 1962. |
