| Caption | The Silver Skis race, held at Mt. Rainier beginning in 1936, was sponsored by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and attracted the finest skiers in the Northwest. Don Fraser won both the 1936 and 1938 races. Gretchen Kunigk, soon to become Gretchen Fraser, won the women's division race in 1938. in this photo they hold their respective trophies outside of Paradise lodge. |
