CaptionThe Bon Marché was founded in 1890 by German immigrants Edward and Josephine Nordhoff. Originally located in Seattle's Belltown district at First Ave and Cedar Street, it soon moved to a more central location downtown at Second and Pine Streets. The Bon Marché went through much construction throughout the years. In 1955, construction was completed on adding four and a half floors to the top of the 1929 downtown building as well as extensive interior remodeling.
