CaptionThe one-room Oak Lake School opened in 1886 near what is now Washelli Cemetery, north of Seattle. For many years Oak Lake was the only school in the northern part of King County. After several moves and additions, the school opened its first permanent building in 1914 at 10040 Aurora Avenue North.
