| Caption | In June 1949, members of Seattle's Junior Safety Patrol enjoyed their annual outing at Playland Amusement Park, a North Seattle institution from 1930 to 1961. Boys and girls from every elementary, middle, and high school in the city visited the Mystery House, rode the Dipper and Dodgem cars and tried their luck at the shooting gallery.
This photo, taken during the 1949 safety patrol trip to Playland Amusement Park, shows a group of children waving from the train as they ride around the grounds. The Dipper roller coaster can be seen in the background. |
