| Caption | The first high school program in Ballard began in this building, which was known as Central School. For several years, the building housed grades 1 through 12. After Ballard was annexed into the city of Seattle, the school was renamed Ballard High School. A new Ballard High opened in 1916, and this building became an elementary school. It was located at 5308 Tallman Avenue, where Swedish Hospital at Ballard now stands. |
