| Caption | A light identifying Alki Point for passing ships began with a simple kerosene lantern in the 1850's. The U.S. Lighthouse Service improved it in 1887, and the lighthouse station that stands today began operating in 1913. This postcard shows an illustration of the Alki Point Lighthouse in the mid-1920's. |
