CaptionOn July 9, 1949, a new international airport between Seattle and Tacoma was opened. The airport cost $11 million and opened free of debt. United Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Pan American World Airways and Western Airlines started their regular passenger service at Sea-Tac on the day of the dedication.
NotesCaption on verso: Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Washington - The largest and busiest airport in the Great Pacific Northwest is also the terminus for Alaska and the Orient with scores of flights daily. Regular schedules commence from here to the Orient and Europe. The terminal provides a complete and unique shopping area for visitors and tourists. Color by Kyle Smith.
