| Photographer | Unknown |
| Date | ca. 1890 |
| Caption | Carson Boren arrived in Seattle in 1851 as part of the founding Denny party. He built a cabin at what is now the corner of Second and Cherry in downtown Seattle. He served as King County's first sheriff and also helped explore wagon routes over the Cascades. He preferred a solitary life, so as Seattle grew, he sold his centrally-located land and moved into the forest. Boren died in 1912. |
