CaptionThe United States army round-the-world pilots were treated like royalty when they returned to Seattle in late September after completing their 40, 000-mile trip. Seattle officials and businessmen organized several gala ceremonies in their honor, and the flyers received gifts. In this photo, Lieutenant Leigh Wade is receiving an honorary ring.
