| Caption | Before it was common to have washing machines and dryers in homes and apartments, many Seattle residents sent their home laundry to commercial laundry companies. A delivery truck picked up the dirty laundry and took it to be washed, ironed, and folded. The truck then returned the clean laundry to the owner.
