TitleSecond Denny Hill regrading project, Seattle, May 10, 1929
PhotographerWebster & Stevens
Date1929
CaptionIn the late 1920s, part of Denny Hill still separated the waterfront area from Lake Union. The city had grown, and southbound traffic coming into the downtown area backed up at Denny Way. Businesses pressured the city to regrade the area.

This photo, taken in May 1929, shows the remainder of Denny Hill early in the second regrading project. Lake Union is to the right, in the distance. The photo was taken from the Hotel Washington.
NotesHandwritten on sleeve: City View from Hotel Wash 5-10-29.
