TitleUniversity of Washington fraternity house, Seattle, ca. 1908
PhotographerWebster & Stevens
Dateca. 1908
CaptionThe earliest fraternities associated with the University of Washington had to find housing amongst the residential and commercial buildings west of the campus. By 1908, however, some 40 acres of land to the north became available from the Puget Mill Company. Several fraternities then began constructing houses in the neighborhood between 45th and 50th NE and NE 17th and 21st, which would eventually become known as Greek Row.
