| Caption | From the time of its incorporation in 1893 until its annexation by Seattle in 1907, Columbia City prospered as an independent settlement with lumber mills and railroads. In the early 1900s, many new buildings were erected along Rainier Avenue and the surrounding area. This photo shows the old courthouse, which still exists today in altered form at 3551-1553 S. Hudson Street. |
