CaptionThe Washington State Dairy Princess Contest was started in 1955 to help promote the dairy industry in Washington State. The Dairy Princess also represents the state in the American Dairy Association's American Dairy Princess / Ambassador Contest. As a Dairy Ambassador, the Dairy Princess is to embody the healthy benefits of dairy products and inform the state population of the values the dairy industry brings to state and local economies. The program includes a college scholarship, statewide travel to make public and media appearances, communication training and image consultation for the winner. All counties and farm organizations are invited to enter a candidate for the state contest which is as part of the June Dairy Month promotion sponsored by the Dairy Women of Washington.
