CaptionDuring the heyday of coal mining in King County, the Pacific Coast Company operated the Maple Valley railway depot through one of its two railroad subsidiaries. Hundreds of thousands of tons of coal was carried along the railroad tracks from Black Diamond and Franklin to coal markets and ships loading in Seattle.
