| Notes | Probably Snow Gulch located 6 miles north of Nome on the Seward Peninsula. Shows miners with sluicing operation. The man to the right, standing in front and by himself is Johan Olsen Sjolseth (1867 - 1938) from Oksendal in Norway. After 10 years in Alaska, he went into lumber business in Hoquiam, and then became a farmer on Fir Island. (Note from Jan O. Kolmann Johnsen. 07/2009)
