| Title | View of Mir-i-Arab Medresse with the Kalyan minaret in the background |
| Notes | The Mir-i-Arab Medresse was built in 1530-1536 by commision of sheikh Abdullah of Yemen, better known as Mir-i-Arab. It was built with money received for the sale of 3, 000 Persian prisoners and is unique for having inside it a burial vault where the sheikh and his associates, as well as the khan of Bukhara, Ubaidulla, are buried. The medresse differs from the more classical architecture of earlier medresses in its ornamental style, signifying the change of taste that occurred in 16th century Bukhara. |
