DescriptionVietnamese wood block or wooden slit-drum. It is sounded with a small wooden ball connected to the body by a flexible metal tongue (traditionally made of horn). It is primarily found as a time keeper in the "dan tai tu" (music of the ‘amateurs') and in the "hat cai lu'o'ng" (renovated theatre) traditions.
This song lang has an ornate abalone dragon on the top surface.
