Contextual NotesMerril & Ring Lumber Company began business ca. 1908, with logging operations based at Everett. By 1922, they had logging operations at Pysht. In addition, they had logging operations at Duncan Bay, British Columbia.

Pysht is a community on a small inlet at the wide mouth of the Pysht River on the Strait of Juan de Fuca in north central Clallam County. It was formerly the headquarters for the Merrill & Ring Tree Farms. This Indian name, meaning fish, has been spelled in almost every possible form.
