An abridgement of Hume's "History of England."
Intended to accompany "A series of prints of English history, designed as ornaments for those apartments in which children receive the first rudiments of their education."
Short lessons about English history beginning with the reign of Edward VI and ending with the reign of George II.
This plate depicts "The Fire of London" in 1666.
Contextual NotesSarah Trimmer was known as the "Guardian of Education." She did much work for John Marshall until they had a falling out toward the end of the 18th century.
