Mostly religious verses and prayers, this was one of six such lessons printed on cloth. Contains six verses surrounded by a geometric border with three illustrations printed at the top. The verses are entitled: "Children's Prayer", "The Sabbath", "Religion - What is it?", "Lord's Prayer", "Praise", and "Mary's Lamb by Mrs. Hale" that has the lines: "Mary had a little lamb, Its fleece was white as snow, And every where that Mary went, The lamb was sure to go... O Mary loves the lamb you know, the teacher did reply; And you each gentle animal In confidence shall bind, And make them follow at your call, If you are always kind."
The three illustrations depict children in a classroom, Mary and her lamb, and three children being read to by a woman.
The caption at the top reads: "Count the day lost, whose slow descending sun, views from thy hand no work of goodness done."
