Howard and Evans are listed as "Printers to the Cheap Repository for Moral and Religious Tracts." Additional publishers listed on the cover include J. Hatchard (London, England) and J. Binns (Bath, England). Includes verses designed to teach children moral behavior. The Divine Song titles include: "Against scoffing and calling names", "Against evil company", "Against pride in clothes", "and Obedience to parents". Also included is a section of the "Ten Commandments out of the Old Testament put into short rhymes for Children" and a section for "A Slight Specimen of Moral Songs" one of which speaks to the detriment of being a sluggard. |
