| Contextual Notes | Fort St. James was a fur trading post founded in 1806. The fort came under the control of the Hudson's Bay Company in 1821 and functioned until 1952. The log warehouse was built in 1888. Due to log rot the building has to be rebuilt every 25 years. The warehouse that stands today is from the fourth rebuilding. |
