| Contextual Notes | The Church of the Sacred Heart, also known as the Cataldo Mission or simply the Old Mission, is Idaho's oldest standing building. Various records indicate the building was constructed circa 1848-1853. In 1887 a new structure was built to replace this one in DeSmet, Idaho, in the Coeur d'Alene reservation. |
