Background information: Between 1970 and 1971, Bobby Seale and Ericka Hugins were "tried for the 1969 murder of a Black Panther suspected of being a police informer. Background information: After "an abortive escape and kidnapping attempt from the Hall of Justice in Marin county, California, " in which Ruchell Magee was the sole survivor of the alleged kidnappers, Angela Davis was suspected of supplying the weapons involved. She was arrested in 1970 and "returned to California to face charges of kidnapping, murder, and conspiracy; she was acquitted of all charges by an all-white jury." (Angela Davis.
