| Photographer | Morley Studios |
| Date | 1962 |
| Caption | The Monorail was built to carry passengers between the Seattle World's Fair grounds and downtown Seattle; it still runs today as the Seattle Center Monorail. At the time it was described as "a preview of the mass transit system of the future." The 1.2 mile trip takes about 95 seconds aboard one of the high speed trains which can take up to 450 passengers per trip. During the fair, round-trip prices for the Monorail were 75 cents for adults and 50 cents for children. |
