|Title||Scientists discussing a research problem in a shallow reef pool at Enjebi Island, summer 1964 |
|Photographer||Sneddon, James O. |
|Notes||Images documenting the Eniwetok-Bikini Resurvey Project between July and September 1964.|
Caption with image: Arthur Welander collected fish at Engebi Island, which had been a collecting station through all the years of nuclear testing. In this photograph, Welander and Ralph Palumbo, right, discussed the problem in a shallow reef pool on the north side of Engebi. The beach where the photographer was standing was still littered with rifle casings, apparently left from the American invasion of the island in February, 1944.9265-12A.
