Caption in scrapbook: The strange plants of Eniwetok
These two shots taken on Rujoru Island of a palm, Cocos nucifera, whose lower fronds had been stripped off by the blast. The broad-leafed underbrush is called the Kiljen bush, Scaevola frutescens. Donaldson is seen studying the blast effect in the corner of [this] photo.
