"A was Aladdin, whose wonderful map, made him a prince, though a very great scamp." The illustration depicts Aladdin holding his lamp.
"B was the Beauty, beloved by the Beast, who was not a-fraid of the brute in the least." The illustration depicts the Beast as bear-like.
