NotesUnillustrated.
In this book, the author attempts to "suggest some of the fundamental laws of good behavior in every-day life." While she notes that most etiquette books describe the proper conduct for large, formal events and not the smaller, every day events with which most readers are familiar, she states that the lessons from those books can be adapted; "The degree of formality varies, the quality of courtesy is unchanging." As part of her effort to create habitually well-mannered people, the author includes such topics as: Entertaining; The dinner service - the formal arrangement of the dinner table; Social young America; Behavior in public thoroughfares; Bearing and speech; Personal habits; and, Social cooperation.
